About the UV Aqua Buzzer Trout Fly
The UV Aqua Buzzer is a modern, high attraction buzzer designed for stillwaters when you need a chironomid pupa imitation with extra pulling power. It makes a very exciting buzzer pattern that trout can find irresistible at times, with the UV element aimed at stimulating aggressive takes.
The fly combines a slim, buzzer true curved profile with a shimmering aqua/blue flash section at the thorax, a subtle red segmentation through the body to give the fly a bloodworm like hint, and a white gill tuft, creating clear trigger points in the surface film and upper layers. The epoxy style finish adds a subtle sheen and helps the pattern fish cleanly when left to drift or retrieved slowly.
That red banding is particularly useful in flat light or slightly coloured water, where a plain dark buzzer can be easy to miss, giving trout something to focus on.
Fishing Tips:
- Fish on a floating line with a long leader and let it drift and hang. Takes often come when it’s barely moving!
- Add a slow figure-of-eight to keep it creeping naturally.
- If fish are deeper or there’s a chop on, try an intermediate, count it down, and retrieve slowly to keep it in the lane.
