The Eyed Stalking Bug Grey is a purpose-built stillwater trout fly designed for crystal-clear lakes, dams and reservoirs, where accuracy, visibility and depth control are essential. Its slim, weighted body helps it sink quickly, making it ideal for sight-fishing to cruising or holding trout in clear water.
Dressed with an grey and white marabou tail, lead-wire body and a smooth epoxy-coated head, this stalking bug offers a compact profile with just enough movement and attraction to tempt wary fish. The painted yellow eye gives an extra trigger point without making the fly too aggressive, while the olive colour keeps it natural enough for bright conditions and pressured stillwaters.
This is a very useful fly when trout can be seen but are reluctant to chase larger lures. Cast ahead of the fish, allow the fly to drop to the correct depth, then use short, controlled pulls or gentle twitches to bring it to life.
