About the Sparkler Booby Trout Fly
The Sparkler Booby is an attractor variant of the Booby pattern. It can succeed when other boobies fail because it's sparkly body is ideal for grabbing the attention of the fish.
A buoyant fly that is usually best fished on a sinking line and a very short leader, no longer than 50 cm or 19 inches.
It should be presented hovering temptingly just above the bottom, where the fish are often lying especially, during early season.
It is ideal for bank fishing, on still waters and reservoirs and is also deadly when used from a boat with a fast sinking line and allowing the fly to just pop off the bottom.
When it is out and settled, give it a little twitched retrieve, say 10 to 20 cm (4 to 8 inches), which will give the booby 'life' and attract the attention of the fish.
Country of origin for this trout fly: UK
This trout fly is designed to be fished on Dams & Reservoirs, Still Water
