About the Sawyer's Grey Goose Trout Fly
Frank Sawyer created this pattern for rivers as an imitation of nymphs of the pale watery blue winged olive and the spurwing. He recommended it to be fished fairly deep.
It will work in still waters if fished near the bottom on a slow figure of 8 retrieve on a long leader.
Expert Tip:
Frank Sawyer designed his nymphs based on an impression of the actual nymph rather than a copy.
Size and shape his main criterior, and the clever use of materials were his tools.
