About the Merkin Crab Saltwater Fly
Del Brown’s "Merkin" fly has accounted for more fly caught permit than any other pattern.
It is an old standby fly that's been around for years. You can't beat this pattern for sight casting to permit.
A Merkin does a great job of imitating crabs and Permit love crabs.
The motion triggers the fish to eat and this pattern seems to creates the illusion of scuttling legs

It's best because of it's versatility. If you vary the weight of the eyes, color and size, it will cover almost all situations.
