About the Tube Yellow and Black Salmon Atlantic Fly
Cold, clear water is the domain of the black and yellow tube. This is a great fly for spring salmon and on rivers like the Spey and the Dee you cannot go far wrong with it.
Expert Tip:
Brass tubes are very popular for salmon fishing in heavy water in Icelandand the rest of the world. These tubes will sink very well and are therefore heavy for casting. Preferable to use on double handed rods or large single handed rods. The 1” tubes are very good all summer but the 1 ½” in heavier water in spring and floods.
Some fishermen prefer lighter tubes tied on Aluminium tubes, there fore the most popular tubes are also tied on aluminium tubes. These are much easier to cast with single handed rods but will not sink as well. Dr. Jonas Jonasson
