About the Black Zonker Trout Fly
The Black Zonker is a successful stillwater Attractor Pattern and a great baitfish imitator.
Very attractive to large, predatory Trout; works well in both rivers and lakes.
The special tying generates excitement from the additional eye tinsel body to the tantalizing way the rabbit fur moves.
Expert Tip:
Dan Byford invented the Zonker as a "swimming action" bait fish fly.
His fly was an instant success and has become a 'must have' for still water fishers where ever there are Trout; accounting for many species of fresh water game fish.

Comments from other fly fishermen
I have fished Zonker's for years in the western USA with great success. The body of this fly and it's head is tied incorrectly. I suppose that this pattern will catch fish, but my trust goes with Dan Byford's original dressing which can be found from Umpqua Feather Merchants. - 3 out of 5 Stars by Scott W. on 03/08/2011
