Down n' Dirty Damsel

This fly is created and tied by Charles Jardine. Charles used this fly when stalking big Avington Trout (Troubleshooter article in Today's Flyfisher June 2006). Weighted suitably enough to tumble down to the deadly 4ft to 6ft deep.

Back in the early eighties, when Sid Knight took out a copyright on his Dog Nobbler flies, local anglers to Rockbourne Fishery at Fordingbridge soon found that something very similar was taking trout like nobody’s business, without the need to fish with a crash helmet as those Dog Nobblers were lethal things to cast. This fly was weighted by a length of lead wire (0.37mm) wound onto the entire shank of the hook. Best fished on a fast retrieve on a slow sinking line, this fly will take trout all year round.

This Nobbler is tied using shimmer, A new 'sparkly' material that adds life ,colour and movement to the fly making it irristible to all Trout. The actual fly pictured was used on the Avington water in Hampshire achieving a bag limit before lunch on a dark dismal autumn morning

All the flies are divided into major and minor categories which are best for different conditions/times of year. See the text at the top of each category and sub-category to help choose which flies are most appropriate for you.

Choose a fly that you are interested in and then pick the hook size from those that we have available.

Available pack sizes will vary depending on which fly is chosen, and which hook size.

The most popular flies in their most popular sizes are held in our local stock and can be delivered immediately.

Less popular types are held at a remote store and therefore take 5 – 10 days to deliver.

All flies are tied to a very high standard using the best materials.
