About the Black Fritz Trout Fly

The "Blob" colourful series of dry flies are possibly the simplest trout flies ever created;and despite their simplicity, they are remarkably successful. These flies are used a lot in the competition scene. Generally they are most effective when boat fishing although they can prove quite successful from the bank. The bright colours and sparkle attract the fish towards your team of flies.

Expert Tip:

Try hanging them under an indicator at varying depths. Retrieve them back at different speeds; vary the length of pull. You can fish them shallow or deep even pulled through a wave if the waters a bit rough. I find there were fewer 'tail-nip' type bites with the Blob than with my usual marabou tailed lures.
