About the Lunn's Particular Trout Fly
William Lunn devised this admirable fly in 1917 and it still fishes well not only on the chalk streams of southern England for where it was originally intended but on waters all around the world.
He was the keeper on the River Test, a position he held for 45 years from 1887 to 1932.
In particular spinner-stage insects that are floating on the surface, the fisherman can put his confidence in this classic with proved effectiveness.
No dry fly fisherman's flybox can be complete without this outstanding pattern.
Expert Tip:
"It kills well when fish are taking olives and is marvellously good when they are shy or taking spinners. If I had to be limited to one fly, I should choose this."
