About the Hardy's Favourite Trout Fly
A fancy dry fly created by J J Hardy, late of the House of Hardy well known tackle shop and thriving business.
Original fished dry or wet; best as a dry in May and June for trout.
Proven on Scottish lochs and stillwaters as a good point fly
Expert Tip:
Today use barbless hooks when fishing for 'wild' trout; sure you will have the occasional 'long distance catch and release'. Small price for our childrens' children future !

Dressings
- Hook : 10 -14
- Thread : Black or dark brown
- Tail : 3 or 4 fibres of golden pheasant tippet
- Body : Claret floss silk
- Rib : Bronze peacock herl
- Wings : Wing feather of Woodcock
- Hackle : Light partridge breast (grey).
