Fish4flies- How this site works
This site is for the fly fishing enthusiast and was launched
in March 2006. A programme of developments is planned so additional facilities
will be added during the year.
We have listed literally thousands of the most popular flies
from around the world with high quality pictures, and information. Initially we
are focussed on Trout and Salmon (Pacific & Atlantic) flies, but we will be
adding Salt Water, Pike/Muckie, Bass, Sea Trout and Blue Water categories.
Stock for sale
Our panel of experts have chosen a limited number of the
most popular flies for us to hold in stock, and these are marked with a colour
background.
Green/Blue – Immediately available from stock – next
day despatch.
Pink
- Available from our secondary store – 5 days despatch.
White - For information only.
Later we may introduce a hand tying service
Yellow -
Made to order – 2 to 3 weeks delivery
The stock information is ‘live information’ so if we do not have the fly or size that you
want, you always have the choice of ordering a near equivalent that is
immediately available.
If you think a fly would be worth while to add to our stock
list – please vote for it!

Sources
Not all flies are created equal…..we only supply high
quality products made with genuine materials, high quality hooks, and assembled
by experienced tiers that understand that a good fly is one that does not fall
apart as soon as it hits the water.
Our supplier buys hackle from Whiting Farms of USA; deer and
elk hair from The Tannery/Rocky Mountain Dubbing of USA; feathers, fur and
other materials from Wapsi, Hareline Dubbin of USA and Veniard of UK. Hooks from
Daiichi of Japan (or Kamasan, the tradename in Europe);
Tiemco of Japan; VMC of France and Mustad of Norway.
A fly may only be a tiny part of
the total cost of your day’s fishing, but poor flies can ruin the whole experience.
MyFlybox
When you buy from us we will automatically set up a account
for you. We will record which flies you have bought in the past – so you can
reorder the ones that work well… you can also keep a record of your favourite
flies or ones that you might like to try later in the season.
In the future you will also be able to share your
experiences with other enthusiasts through a message board and comments linked
to each fly.
