About the Silver Invicta Trout Fly
James Ogden, the Cheltenham fly dresser and tackle dealer created the original 'Invicta' in the 1870's. 120 plus years later, The Silver Invicta is a favourite of fly fishers everywhere.
Trevor Morgan has added this variant with the white hackle that works as an excellent pin fry offering.
Dressed with jungle cock cheeks, it is deadly. Now with a white hackle instead of the traditional red game, it is an even more successful pattern, especially when trout are fry bashing.
Expert Tip:
Trevor Morgan, who first learnt his craft on the rivers and lakes of Ireland over thirty years ago. It is
his belief that man cannot improve, let alone equal nature. To offer direct imitations is rarely, if ever, possible, so it is with the belief that these are at best caricatures, that they are presented.
Undoubtedly these are successful patterns, having been established in many countries. Others may well improve on these ideas. As an instructor, it has always been Trevor’s prime objective to encourage students and to 'think fly fishing'.
