About the Church Fry Trout Fly

The Church Fry was created in 1963 for use when trout are feeding on perch fry.

It has since become a standard pattern in the fly boxes of still water fly fishermen.

  • Hook : 4-10.
  • Thread : Black.
  • Tail : White hackle fibres.
  • Body : Orange chenille.
  • Rib : Gold wire or tinsel.
  • Wing : Natural squirrel, white tips.
  • Beard Hackle : Crimson hackle.
