About the Straddle Bug Trout Fly
A very productive Mayfly; with its' long hackles creating movement it can be fished wet as well as dry.
Very popular of the south of England chalk streams but definitely worth trying where ever the mayfly are on the water

Dressings
- Hook : 8 -12
- Thread : Dark brown
- Tail : Two or three longish fibres of black cock
- Body : Raffia
- Rib : Dark brown tying silk
- Hackles : French partridge in front of bright orange (a little shorter)
- Head : Peacock herl
The original hackle was 'Summer Duck' with bright orange
