About the Elk Hair Caddis Trout Fly

The Elk Hair Caddis was originally created as a bass fly but has since become a standard sedge imitation for trout on both sides of the Atlantic.

The combination of Elk hair and a palmered body creates an almost unsinkable fly.

This trout fly is designed to be fished on Dams & Reservoirs, Rivers & Streams, Still Water fish

Dressings

  • Hook : 14.
  • Body : Green seal's fur or synthetic dubbing.
  • Hackle : Palmered, short fibred brown cock hackle.
  • Wing : Natural elk with butt clipped to create small head.

Deer hair can be used as an alternative wing dressing.
