About the Doctor Trout Fly
A very important fly for the dry fly fisherman who fishes throughout the season on rivers and stillwaters who at time will be needing a good fly to represent various beetles.

Dressings
- Hook : 12 - 14
- Thread : Black
- Tail : Cock-y-bondhu cock
- Body, Thorax : Black rabbit flax
- Body, Rear : Yellow dubbing, seal
- Hackle : Cock-y-bondhu cock, large and ten turns
The body is to be representative of a beetle, hence keep it bulky.
The original body rear was of white rabbit dyed in picric acid, creating the yellow colour
